1st Trek Meeting Down

HOLA Elder Snell,

hows my buddy? I just loved your email last week about Christine. I hope you were able to meet with her again this week and her neighbor. I hope to hear about them. 

um, ya, about the thorns...... What happens if you get one stuck and then you get an infection..... well you get the point.... right?? and shorts??..... Love you!

Well, we had our first Ma and Pa/Committee Training meeting. It went really well. I gave Dad the assignment to conducting and introducing everyone. He did a Fantastic Job!!!! As much as he says he is not a people person, he really is. Don't let him kid you. Ha Ha. 

I introduced the theme. I'll send you a copy of my little talk. I'm so excited for Trek. It's such an amazing experience for the Youth and for the Leaders. Tawnie and Darin got called as a Ma and Pa. I'm way excited about that!!!! They will be AMAZING!!! oF course Darin was already planning everything, he said, it's just like a rafting trip just on land. Um, YEP. That is true. Instead of packing up in a boat and rowing down a river, we will pack up hand carts and trek across the mountains. He really is excited. The story of them getting called is definitely from Heavenly Father. Each bishop was to submit 4 names of couples to the stake presidency and then they sent the high council members out to call them. It has been many months since the first list was made and we have been waiting patiently to hear who all is getting called. 

Well, my mom told me that Tawnie had mentioned to her that they were sad that they had not been called as a Ma and Pa. She thought they had all been called. I had been feeling like if Heavenly Father wanted them to be called her bishop should have received that inspiration. But that moment when I got off the phone with my mom, the spirit told me to send the email NOW to President Baker that they needed to be a Ma and Pa. I worried that it was because I really wanted them to be there and I worried that it was the bishops that were calling the mas and pas, not us. but I sent the email to PResident Baker and told him that I hadn't asked for any special things before but If I could as for this one favor and that they were amazing people and the Youth really needed them. I know that Heavenly Father sometimes needs us to step in and help with the inspiration. That anyone can receive it and and sometimes he is making his wants known through us too. I loved that they were called and that we get to serve together. 

Well, I hope you have had an amazing week and that you will have another amazing week. Can't believe that you are almost at your 6 month mark, holy cow!!!! That's crazy. In 6 months when we go on Trek you will have been out for a year....... Time flies. 

Love you so much Caden. You are such an inspiration and we can feel your positive energy.

June 25, 2017 Hey buddy!!! How are you? Hows the weather been? Still crazy rainy? It's been way hot here. I loved your video of the rain. That was crazy sauce.  This week has been good. Not too crazy, just working and spending time with Dad as much as I can. Today is our 25th Anniversary, crazy! Life really goes by so fast.  We are watching the drum corps right now. Cool but they will get better with time. YO YO YO ONE YEAR!!!!

July 16 2017 WOWZERS!!!! I can't believe you will have been on a mission for 1 whole year on the 20th........ CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! This world is flying by so fast and I can't even keep up. I can't believe we are already going to be going on trek in 10 days. Any you have been gone almost 365 days.. WHAT... Well, I can't wait to hear all about your new opportunities. I pray you are looking to the Lord to help you do everything. I was thinking about that today and it's something I'm going to share with they youth on Trek. It is easy to get so overwhelmed with everything that is coming at you and all the responsibility that seems to pile up. Sometimes I just want to go in my closet and cry. I think, no way, I can't do one more thing. And then guess what? I pray to My Father in Heaven and somehow he makes things work out. Testimony of Trek

August 6 2017 Hello Buddy!!! Wow, these weeks are flying by so fast!!! I started writing my Trek book and it's about 6 pages now and I am only on the first trekking day. Ha Ha. Ya, probably too much details that I am putting into it but I will give you a quicker version.  I had already told you how we were setting it all up for gear drop off and how we were getting everyone to the stake center that morning. Well, the night before I heard the rain and thunder...... oh man. I went into my closet to pray that I know Heavenly Father needs us to learn something on trek but I did ask if it be his will would he temper the weather. Ha Ha, here I am asking for the weather not to be too hot and also not to be rainy.  So at drop off we had many youth that didn't show up and ended up not coming and some that said they will show up in the morning.
