OH MY GOODNESS ELDER SNELL!!!

You will never believe it!!!! So Kennedy didn't end up coming to church with us that last few weeks. She ended up having a family dinner and then she got really sick. So I thought, maybe she is just decided she didn't want to come with us. But yesterday I got a thought to text her and see if she wanted to come to church with us. And she text me back and said YES!!! It was a great day for her to come. I was so excited. So she said she would come at 1230 on Sunday. Dad ended up working but Lexie and I were home. It was kinda funny, you should give Lexie a hard time cuz she then said, "Oh darn, then we won't have good food". :( She didn't even realize what she had said in regards to my cooking. Ya, so I gave her a hard time.

Anyways, it was about 1230 and Lexie and I were ready for church and waiting for Kennedy. I wasn't sure if she would cancel again. But she didn't. She showed up. She came in and we had time to chit chat for a minute and I said, tell us what's up in your life. So she dove right in. She said she decided TO BE BAPTIZED on December 23rd.. WHAT, NO WAY!!! She has been meeting with the missionaries and been going to church with her friend since March. She said she talked with her mom about joining the church and she was sad. She was really worried what Uncle Ron would say or do. But Kennedy said she doesn't really have that great of a relationship with her dad and that he is really against Mormons. Susie thought Ron will disown Kennedy when he finds out she is going to get baptized. But that is why she is waiting until she turns 18 on December 21st. She said she is kinda worried what Ron will say but she knows that the gospel is more important than him getting mad. WOW!!! She says she isn't excited to talk to him about that but knows with out a doubt she wants the gospel in her life. 

I don't know if you know that last year she was really depressed and ended up in the hospital. That isn't something that everyone knows but her best friend asked her to go to church with her and she LOVED it! She said she was missing something in her life and has now found it. I told her I was sooooo happy for her because I know what it has done for me in my life. I told her that we had been told long time ago not to say anything to her about our religion because Ron was so against mormons. She said, ya, everyone in my neighborhood hates my family because my dad is so mean to everyone especially when the missionaries show up. :(

Susie has had her own experience with feeling so forced with the church from her childhood. It would be so great if Kennedy would be able to have influence on her mom. 

So ya!!! She said she is getting BAPTIZED. 

So we went to church and it was actually Fast and Testimony meeting this week because we have Stake Conference next week. So as we were sitting there I felt really strongly to bear my testimony to Kennedy since it was the first time ever that I would be able to. So I did. She gave me a BIG hug when I sat back down. It felt really good to tell her what I KNOW!

She loved Young Womens and just talking about everything afterwards. I told her you would love to talk with her too and she said that she has your email and she loves reading yours and Elaina's emails. She said she has felt a connection with Elaina from the beginning.

Anyways, exiting huh. You are such an amazing person! I know you are searching and growing and the Lord knows exactly what that needs to look like to help you become who he needs you to become. As your Mom, I wish I could take it all away, but I know how much my adversity has strengthened me and made me who I am. It's just hard to go through it. I put all of your names in the temple on Thursday and fasted for you today. I don't know if you have shared how your companion feels and is acting with your Mission President. Is that something you talk about? Or is it something that everyone just deals with?

Thank you for sharing about your warm fuzzys with the sacrament. You totally helped me. I love hearing the blessings and promises with the initiatory every week. I feel like on Sundays I am clean and then Thursdays I am washed clean again. 

YES, that was a giant perplexus. Lexie said it was the original. It made her so happy. 

As far as vacations, we will have to ponder on that. Looking at a cruise, we would worry about going too late in the season and run into hurricane season that starts at end of July beginning of August. So not exactly sure when you will come home we will have to look at that. We just needed to know if you would want to go back right away. And since you don't, we can look at many other options.... ya, Bermuda would be awesome. 

I love you buddy! HOpe you can feel the prayers from here. You are just so amazing. Keep sharing your testimony and keep pushing and trying. Heaven is cheering you on.

Time Flys Fast!

June 25, 2017 Hey buddy!!! How are you? Hows the weather been? Still crazy rainy? It's been way hot here. I loved your video of the rain. That was crazy sauce.  This week has been good. YO YO YO ONE YEAR!!!!

July 16 2017 WOWZERS!!!! I can't believe you will have been on a mission for 1 whole year on the 20th........ CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! This world is flying by so fast and I can't even keep up. I can't believe we are already going to be going on trek in 10 days. Any you have been gone almost 365 days.. WHAT... Well, I can't wait to hear all about your new opportunities. I pray you are looking to the Lord to help you do everything. I was thinking about that today and it's something I'm going to share with they youth on Trek. It is easy to get so overwhelmed with everything that is coming at you and all the responsibility that seems to pile up. Sometimes I just want to go in my closet and cry. I think, no way, I can't do one more thing. And then guess what? I pray to My Father in Heaven and somehow he makes things work out. Testimony of Trek

August 6 2017 Hello Buddy!!! Wow, these weeks are flying by so fast!!! I started writing my Trek book and it's about 6 pages now and I am only on the first trekking day. Ha Ha. Ya, probably too much details that I am putting into it but I will give you a quicker version.  I had already told you how we were setting it all up for gear drop off and how we were getting everyone to the stake center that morning. Well, the night before I heard the rain and thunder...... oh man. I went into my closet to pray that I know Heavenly Father needs us to learn something on trek but I did ask if it be his will would he temper the weather. Ha Ha, here I am asking for the weather not to be too hot and also not to be rainy.  So at drop off we had many youth that didn't show up and ended up not coming and some that said they will show up in the morning.
