Focus on Christ
APRIL 2 2017
Hello Elder Snell :)
Thanks for the email! :) I love your thoughts on General Conference.
It was SO good this time around!
So, I would love to help you out with a devotional for trek! I will
have to think on it a little more, though haha :) I will try to think
of something, but if you have any specific ideas on how I can help
better, let me know! :)
I love you, Mom! Give everyone a hug for me :)

Hello Elder Snell :)
Oh how I loved General Conference. I hope you loved it too. What an amazing opportunity we have to sit at our prophets and general authorities feet and learn. I loved how today Benjamin DeHoyos (70) said that if I follow Christ now it would be likely that I would have followed him back then. He said some say they like to imagine how it would be to sit at his feet and learn but we don't have to imagine because we hear it all the time now. We know what Christ's voice sounds like as we are listening today and everyday to our prophet and apostles.
There were tons of talks that I absolutely loved and wrote tons to try and remember my feeling and promptings that I had that I need to do. My favorite though was when Lexie and I were listening to S. Mark Palmer. During his talk all of a sudden Lexie exclaims, "YES, YES, YES" and I was like, what??? She waited and wrote stuff down and didn't tell me until the end of his talk. She was so excited that he answered the questions she brought to conference. She wanted to hear about Leadership and he gave 4 ways to "Behold" others. 1. If you have perfect love towards others you can speak with boldness. 2. NO TEACHING CAN BE DONE IN FRUSTRATION AND ANGER (this is the one she was so excited about). 3. You must never withdrawal your love for someone if they don't live up to your expectations. 4. Because he loves us so much he expects so much.
I loved that she got so excited and that it is always true, Answers will be given if we just ask.
So we are trying to figure out another break out for our Mas and Pas for this coming Sunday. Dad and I are doing a devotional and the activity committee is doing a break out. We have been trying to figure out the last one and Dad just came up with a great idea to play some of the last trek so they can see what it looks like pulling the handcart. I thought that was a great idea.
Dad and I have to figure out what the devotionals should be about and I was thinking about Elder Hollands talk yesterday and then also Elder Nelson's where we can teach about accessing the Lords Power. I think it really needs to pertain to the youth though. If you have any thoughts on a good topic or something you have learned that you think would help the youth face the challenges they have that would be awesome. I'd love to share a story about you or your mission with them.
Lexie had her final Guard competition last night. They did really good!!! they actually placed 3rd. It was crazy. they only have placed they're very first comp and then this one. Ha Ha. That was fun! It went on forever thought. Poor Zac was upset that we were still there until almost midnight. Of course Megan wasn't happy. she was at home waiting for him. But he was there supporting Lexie. I resolved thought that I need to complain less. It was really hot and FOREVER long for them to do awards. It took and hour and a half to start the awards and give them out......
We both Moonlight tickets.... Yay! Lexie is excited to play in the jazz band for it. Dad and I are serving 2 nights and then enjoying it the last night. Lexie actually has to do her solo ensemble on that Saturday after she has been playing for 3 days straight for moonlight... Hope it goes well.
I am leanring so much about being happy and leading others to happiness by example. It's been so awesome. I know that I am focusing on The Savior and by doing so he is helping me with everything else. I am so grateful for him and all that he blesses me with. It's hard to try and do everything but when we focus on him, it all works out. I do know that is true.
I love you buddy! I hope you have an amazing week. I hope you loved the pics of My Puppy.
Love you!
