Hey Buddy!

I miss ya! Oh, how I miss ya. I can't believe the time has come for Elaina to leave. I don't know why that makes me miss you even more! She did an incredible job on her talk, you know and I know that she will be an amazing missionary, just like you! 

We drove straight through from California yesterday just to make it to her Farewell party last night. We barely made it by about 45 minutes. My bum is still a little sore from driving so far. Ha Ha. But we made it. It was super funny cuz I went up to Elaina's grandpa and grandma and said hello and gave them a little hug. Then dad and I went and sat at a table where there was room for us to sit. Her grandpa came over and sat by us and talked up a storm. He said he might as well come over and get to know us since we will be related in the future. Ha Ha. I love him!!!! 

Anyway, we ended up having a fantastic time for the rest of our trip. We enjoyed a Segway tour of San Diego. Of course Lexie had no interest in what we were actually seeing but that she was on a Segway and was moving. Ha Ha. To tell you the truth, me either. It wasn't as exciting as DC but it was fun to ride the Segway. After that we took Lexie to the Airport and she boarded a plane for the first time on her own. It was crazy because there were only 25 people on her plane. She go the whole back row all to her self. I was a bit nervous for her safety but knew Heavenly Father would watch over her. 

It's been great being off work for 11 days as of tomorrow. WOW! I'm nervous to go back to the unknown but I trust that all is well. Tomorrow is Memorial Day and I am off but Dad has to work. Dad and I didn't get to go to the cemetery today with the rest of my family because we had a Trek meeting. It actually ends up being 2 hours long. We had LOTS to discuss. I am so very grateful for the committee members that have worked so HARD to make sure Trek will go the best it can go. They have put so much thought into it. 

It's almost 1:30 am so I'm going to go read my scriptures and get ready for bed. I am LOVING going through the BOM right now highlighting scriptures from the topical guide about Christ, The doctrine, His Attributes and His words. I am so grateful for My Savior. I know that it is only through Him that I feel peace. I am so very proud of you Caden. I love how much your faith and testimony have grown and that you are so willing to share it with us all. You are an inspiration. 

Keep on keeping on and stay strong. I have been praying for Kyler lately, he hasn't been doing very well. He called me out of the blue because he had been thinking about suicide but he couldn't do it because he knew what it would do the everyone left behind but he knew I would listen. If you can keep him in your prayers as well that would be awesome. I testified to him as we were talking that there was no way he could get out of this depression on his own. The adversary has been working so hard on him to tell him he is nothing and that his life isn't worth it. but I testified to him that he needed to not listen. He needed to turn to Christ to find the light and love he is seeking. I pray he can do it. 

Miss ya bud. I'm so grateful for you and for the way you are serving. You definiely have been making your patriarchal blessing speak truth that your service makes your parents proud.

Time Flys Fast!

June 25, 2017 Hey buddy!!! How are you? Hows the weather been? Still crazy rainy? It's been way hot here. I loved your video of the rain. That was crazy sauce.  This week has been good. Not too crazy, just working and spending time with Dad as much as I can. Today is our 25th Anniversary, crazy! Life really goes by so fast.  We are watching the drum corps right now. Cool but they will get better with time. It's still really early in the season.  We had a way long trek meeting today but really feel like the Lord is guiding us and we have so many amazing people who are helping to plan it. YO YO YO ONE YEAR!!!!

July 16 2017 WOWZERS!!!! I can't believe you will have been on a mission for 1 whole year on the 20th........ CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! This world is flying by so fast and I can't even keep up. I can't believe we are already going to be going on trek in 10 days. Any you have been gone almost 365 days.. WHAT... Well, I can't wait to hear all about your new opportunities. I pray you are looking to the Lord to help you do everything. I was thinking about that today and it's something I'm going to share with they youth on Trek. It is easy to get so overwhelmed with everything that is coming at you and all the responsibility that seems to pile up. Sometimes I just want to go in my closet and cry. I think, no way, I can't do one more thing. And then guess what? I pray to My Father in Heaven and somehow he makes things work out. Testimony of Trek

August 6 2017 Hello Buddy!!! Wow, these weeks are flying by so fast!!! I started writing my Trek book and it's about 6 pages now and I am only on the first trekking day. Ha Ha. Ya, probably too much details that I am putting into it but I will give you a quicker version.  I had already told you how we were setting it all up for gear drop off and how we were getting everyone to the stake center that morning. Well, the night before I heard the rain and thunder...... oh man. I went into my closet to pray that I know Heavenly Father needs us to learn something on trek but I did ask if it be his will would he temper the weather. Ha Ha, here I am asking for the weather not to be too hot and also not to be rainy.  So at drop off we had many youth that didn't show up and ended up not coming and some that said they will show up in the morning.
