Mr Missionary

Hello Mr Missionary!

Looks like you had a fun Bday dinner! Sorry again for not just hanging up, I was slow in thinking...... :)

Just making sure you have Elaina's email switched to her missionary email.... Her PDay looks like it is Tuesday while in the MTC.

So this week when I went to the temple my Initiatory friend, Carrie Moss, was at the entrance when I walked in and she said, hey you know the Olsens. She had seen that I posted a pic with Elaina on FB and she was so excited because the Olsen's used to live in her ward before they moved to Kaysville. She LOVES the Olsens. So crazy how small the world is. I told her Elaina was your very special friend and she loved that. I'm so grateful for friendships that Heavenly Father sends to us. I know without a doubt that I knew her before this earth and how awesome it is to find her again.

I am reading a book called "The Great and The Terrible" - THE BROTHERS. It's all about the premortal life and the war in Heaven and then now they are on the earth and some of them who were "brothers and sisters" in Heaven are finding eachother here on the earth. It's crazy because it's talking all about the signs of the times and the battles we are fighting right now on earth with Saudi Arabia and how evil the rulers are and the power they are seeking and that Satan is totally behind it all. WOW. They just mentioned that they were able to take out a couple of our towers and look what that did to our nation. It has really good food for thought though and special things to think about how God helps us and how he is here for us and protect us. One of the girls had an angel, Teancum, the BOM nephite military leader, save her from a man who was being controlled by Satan. Literally, she was sleeping, he was sent to slay her and the angel saved her and she didn't even know it. WOW. How many angels are watching over all of us. I'm so very grateful!!!!

Anyway, sorry I didn't mean to get on a tangent but I am loving the series. I'm on book 3 already.

Thank you for the prayers for us to do good with the Joint Commission. I know all will go well with The Lord and whatever will happen is what is needed to keep moving forward. They didn't show up last week. We will see this week.....

Lexie is going to girls camp this week. It will be quiet this week without her. She is always sitting right between dad and I on our bed every night. Ha Ha. It's great.

I bet it's way HOT there now. Wish there was someway I could help change that for you but I guess you will just have to endure it, right??

How are things with your companion? Anything I can do for you?

I am so grateful for my Savior and all that he has done for me. He keeps me going just by knowing that the prophets in the Book of Mormon have testified that he will be there and he will go before me and help me. I just need to keep submitting to his will. That's what I pray for. I pray I don't miss a prompting and ask that he will keep teaching me how to hear him.

Love you Buddy!!! Hope you are Keeping on Keeping On!!!

Love, Mom

ELDER SNELL: Hello, Mommy!
I love you! Just wanted to make sure you know that :)
I love how much you love going to the temple! Thank you for being such an amazing example to me for that :) That is super cool that your friend knows the Olsens! If you know the Olsens, it is kind of hard not to love them! hahaha
That book series you are reading sounds really neat! Heavenly Father's Plan of Salvation really blows my mind. There are so many aspects of it that I only wish I could understand in this life! hahaha Oh well, we will all learn and understand eventually, right? :) I am just going to try and learn as much as Heavenly Father will let me while I am here on Earth! I love the gospel so much!!!!!
You are definitely right about the heat! Can't really change too much about it. All I can do is endure! hahaha It is kind of fun always being slightly damp, though ðŸ˜… Just kidding. It is ridiculous! haha oh well :) at least the Subways are air conditioned!
Everything is going pretty good with Elder Afoa. He is still struggling with English, so he doesn't really talk much with people. I feel a lot of pressure because of it. Elder Afoa doesn't talk to anyone on the train or bus and sometimes doesn't even speak in lessons. So, I am trying to help him be able to do missionary work, help my district progress in their missionary work, help Bishop help the ward, help our investigators progress in the gospel, etc. I am feeling a little overwhelmed, but that is okay :) Nothing Heavenly Father knows I can't handle! President Reynolds gave me the advice to "Be overwhelmed, but don't be stressed". I will be the first to admit that it is easier said than done, but he is definitely right :) hahaha Elder Afoa and I are getting along really great, though! I just wish I knew how to help the people I have stewardship over. Heavenly Father does know, though! Lots of prayer helps :) :)
Anyway, sorry for that small tangent. I love you, Mom! I am glad to hear that everything is going well back home! Thank you for the video of everyone singing Happy Birthday to me!! hahahahaha I love that you and Heidi had everyone do it all over again! hahahaha :):):)
Love ya!
Elder Snell
