We are here! crazy huh!!!! Just across the river from ya. Actually we r still at the airport . 
ELDER SNELL:

 WELCOME TO NEW YORK!

 Hi, Family!!!! :) :) :) Welcome to my home!

First off, I checked out your itinerary, and I am super jealous that you are getting to do all the stuff I have been dying to do since I got here!! You are going to have tons of fun! Man, I miss band trips hahaha

Anyway, where are you at? Did you land at the LaGuardia or JFK airport? Both of which are in my mission, btw ;) hahaha but I am sure you already knew that. Last week, both airports were actually in my area! Mom asked me about the possibility of coming over to the mission office? You are more than welcome to do that! Hahaha that would be sweet! Not sure if President Reynolds will be there today, but the office missionaries and the senior couples will definitely be there. Just don’t take a cab there from Manhattan!!!! That would be mad expensive! If you are going to try to get there, the best route would definitely be by subway (it’s the cheapest and probably the fastest due to traffic). Or you could take the Long Island Railroad from Penn Station over to Woodside ($20 round trip...), then take the subway over to the mission office. If you need to know what trains to take, let me know hahaha :) Regular subway is the cheapest! You can just get on the R train (Queens bound) at Times Square and go straight to Woodhaven Blvd. in Elmhurst, Queens. No transfers or anything :) 

If they give you any time for lunch or dinner on your own, you definitely need to go get some real pizza! ;) hahahaha just go to any hole-in-wall looking place. They will have the best pizza :) any of the suggested pizza places they gave to you should be great! As long as it is the kind where they have all the pizza laid out for you to look at, you pick one, and they put it in the oven for you right then! Those kind are the best! Also, go to a NY deli! They are super super good! Most NY Hero sandwiches are phenomenal :) 

So, what are your plans for today? Guess what?!? So, Elder Pratt was supposed to have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow in Manhattan around where you are going to be!! But, the doctor asked if we could schedule it for next week instead.... oh well! Hahaha probably for the best ;) it would’ve super crazy to run into a bunch of Davis Band kids, though hahaha. Let me know what you are up to for the day!!

It is still super crazy to think you are literally just a 30-45 minute train ride away from me! Just on the other side of the river! When you go on your Statue of Liberty cruise you will be able to see Brooklyn :) so, you can wave and say, “Hello, Elder Snell!!!” I won’t be able to hear you, but that is okay hahaha I am in the very center of Brooklyn and cover down to the bottom edge of it. 

OH!!!!! Go to the temple!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE that temple! :) :) :) so cool how when you walk inside, it becomes silent! The temple is on one of the busiest streets over there, but when you walk inside, you can’t hear a thing going on outside! So sweet! Just take the 1 train (uptown bound) from Times Square up to Lincoln Center plaza :) It’s just like 3 stops or so :) the temple is right next to the subway station, so you can’t miss it :)

Wow! This is so cool that you are here! Still super jealous that I can’t come with you, but that is okay! We will have to do it all again after my mission ;) hahaha

P.S. Be sure to always have some cash on you. Most pizza places/deli’s are cash only... some accept card though with a minimum of $10 or something like that :)

P.P.S. Please be careful in Times Square! There have been quite a few terrorist attacks over the past couple months in Times Square. If you see any sketchy looking vehicles, get out of the way :) some terrorists have mowed over and killed a number of people very recently on two different occasions... Also, there are a lot of nude protestors and nude “street performers” in Times Square... please be careful :)

P.P.P.S. If you really want to, I could give you Sister Reynold’s number and you could text her to see what they are up to today. Just if you wanted to meet them :)

MOM: YES!!!! I would love to get Sister Reynolds number!!!!! Or just your address and we can put it on your porch. Ha ha. 

We will be careful. Lexie is already DONE!!! Ha ha. You know how we were all in Las Vegas and didn’t do crowds. Ya. She’s done. 

ELDER SNELL: Here is Sister Reynold’s number :) she is usually shopping at CostCo on Monday, so she and President Reynolds may have some time to meet up with you, but I can’t promise anything hahaha they are the sweetest people ever, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they make time :)

The office closes at 5 :) so if you get there any time before then they will be there :) I will be at the office all day tomorrow for Mission Leadership Council, so if you leave anything I can get it very soon :) 


MOM: That’s awesome! We will try and work it out today so u can have it. We r just getting the instruments unloaded and then can take off. Sister Reynolds said they won’t be there until 6: 30 or 7. Unfortunately we won’t be able to make it by then. We have a dinner Appointment at 7. 

ELDER SNELL: Yay!! That’s exciting :) hey, take notes on what is super fun to do in Manhattan, so when we come back we can do the fun stuff :) I’ve only been to the temple and back haha

You are eating at the Hard Rock Cafe tonight, huh? That’s fun! You will definitely have to meet President and Sister Reynolds at some point, though! They live in Cottonwood, so I will take you with me to visit them some time :) hahaha

MOM: I am so sad that Dad had to go back for another load. So we probably won’t even make it to the mission home before they closed at 5pm. We will see how long it takes him. I hear it takes about 45 minutes to get to the mission home From here. So I am so sorry if we don’t make it by tonight. We know we can have Kari Swenson’s brother who lives in Plainview deliver it for sure after Thanksgiving but I hate to have that happen. We will keep trying!!!!

ELDER SNELL: Oh, it’s all good if you can’t :) Kari Swenson has a brother who lives in Plainview?? What’s his name??? Is he a member? 

MOM: He was the previous Bishop of the Plainview Ward? Or he is in the Plainview Stake. He says he knows you. But I’m not sure his name. 

ELDER SNELL: I’m sure I know him! :) The previous bishop was Bill Whitney. The bishop now is Joe Bjarnson. If you get his name let me know :) even just his last name haha

We didn’t get your Christmas delivered. So sorry!!!! Dad was doing the equipment truck all day. So we weren’t able to get out there. 

We will get it out there. There is part that needs to be refrigerated.

June 25, 2017 Hey buddy!!! How are you? Hows the weather been? Still crazy rainy? It's been way hot here. I loved your video of the rain. That was crazy sauce.  This week has been good. YO YO YO ONE YEAR!!!!

July 16 2017 WOWZERS!!!! I can't believe you will have been on a mission for 1 whole year on the 20th........ CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! This world is flying by so fast and I can't even keep up. I can't believe we are already going to be going on trek in 10 days. Any you have been gone almost 365 days.. WHAT... Well, I can't wait to hear all about your new opportunities. I pray you are looking to the Lord to help you do everything. I was thinking about that today and it's something I'm going to share with they youth on Trek. It is easy to get so overwhelmed with everything that is coming at you and all the responsibility that seems to pile up. Sometimes I just want to go in my closet and cry. I think, no way, I can't do one more thing. And then guess what? I pray to My Father in Heaven and somehow he makes things work out. Testimony of Trek

August 6 2017 Hello Buddy!!! Wow, these weeks are flying by so fast!!! I started writing my Trek book and it's about 6 pages now and I am only on the first trekking day. Ha Ha. Ya, probably too much details that I am putting into it but I will give you a quicker version.  I had already told you how we were setting it all up for gear drop off and how we were getting everyone to the stake center that morning. Well, the night before I heard the rain and thunder...... oh man. I went into my closet to pray that I know Heavenly Father needs us to learn something on trek but I did ask if it be his will would he temper the weather. Ha Ha, here I am asking for the weather not to be too hot and also not to be rainy.  So at drop off we had many youth that didn't show up and ended up not coming and some that said they will show up in the morning. We also had a Ma and Pa decide not to come and didn't tell us. We didn't know until the night before we left. WOW. It's...
