Off To Girls Camp
AUGUST 1, 2016
Whaz Up????
Whaz Up????
Hey Elder Snell,
I am sitting here typing you your letter and I am listening to you play "I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go". Of course, I'm sure you already know that I probably have a few tears in my eyes. We were over at the Hadley's tonight as McKay was set apart as a Missionary. I just thought of you the whole time and how blessed we all are to have you serve our Heavenly Father.
By now you should have my talk that I gave on Sunday. (I sent it in the package with the belt, hopefully you got it???) I didn't say it word for word but it was the stories that count right? The spirit was so strong! I had many people come talk to me afterwards and tell me how I was speaking directly to them. I Love how the Spirit works that way. It has nothing to do with me, but what our Heavenly Father needs them to hear.
Well, we are all packed for Girls camp tonight, Monday night. I have to write you the email tonight because we won't have internet until later Friday afternoon as we are leaving the camp. So I didn't want to miss sending you a letter! I love to hear your adventures and special experiences. I have so many people who tell me they have been touched by your letters so far. It's amazing how many you can share the gospel with using social media. You are serving a world wide mission, not just a mission to New York. How cool is that!!!
I'm talking at one of the firesides at Girls Camp and I'm sharing some thoughts that I have had that I know Sister Gina McConkie has helped me with. I found her little scripture book she gave to all of us relief Society sisters and it created my talk from just a simple question of "Why is it that thou hast sent me?"
As I read that the feeling that I was sent here to be a Caregiver flooded my mind. I thought about Gina and the amazing opportunity I was given to help her and her family. This is a special bond I now have with Brother McConkie and his family. I was blessed to care for Amy Patterson's dad as well and what a special relationship I have been blessed with to have with her and her family.
I know that you will be touching lives as well and spreading the amazing message of our Savior Jesus Christ and the plan of Salvation and you will be having those special bonds with others in your mission.
I love you so much Caden. I hope the MTC hasn't been too rough for you and you have felt strength from heaven. As I think about it, this will probably be the last email you will get before you leave for New York.......how crazy is that! I really hope that they let you call home at the airport. Lexie will be at Band Camp 7am Monday morning (at Davis). Do you have any flight plans yet?
I'm so grateful that I have been blessed with the knowledge that you will be safe and that Heavenly Father has you in his care. It really is a comfort knowing that. I Love you. Your Mission President and Wife will Love you too. Keep working hard and continue to be the Honorable Young Man that you are.
Love you so much!
Love, Mom
ELDER SNELL: Thank you so much for the belt and your talk! I loved it :) I'm happy to hear everything is still going well at home. The MTC has definitely been an experience that I won't forget haha. It is a lot of fun and a lot of learning :)
So, we leave for the Salt Lake Airport around 3:30-4:00 Monday morning...our flight is around 7:30ish though, so I will probably be calling around 6:00-7:00. I'm not certain though haha. I'm not sure how long I will be able to talk either. I would like to say hi to everyone (you, dad, lexie, zac, megan, elaina) maybe, so would that be a possibility??? ;) if not, that's okay. I bought a call card with an hour and a half on it, though. So I guess we will see. I will be landing in New York around 3:45 pm.
Love you!
Elder Snell
MOM: Yes!!!!!! We will gather. Elaina says she will be there with us and I'll check with Zac and Megan.
Elaina says Hi
We just got reception and driving out of the canyons right now.
Just to let I know Elaina is AWESOME!!!!!
