HOLY COW!!! New Area for you!
HOLY COW!!! New Area for you!
I'm so excited to hear about your new area. Sounds like you guys will be very busy with 2 units to keep track of and be a Zone Leader. I can't believe you have passed your year mark. Did you get your package??? We didn't know if you would be able to keep it so if you can't you can send it back home or give it to someone to love. If you can, we hope you can enjoy it.
Oh my goodness!!! This is the week we go to TREK!!! eekkk. I can't believe it is here. It's almost been a whole year since we were called and have started planning. We leave in 2 days. We had our last planning meeting tonight. It's FULL BORE ahead!!! We shopped and got all our stuff on Friday and Saturday. We have all our outfits layed out ready to treat them with bug stuff to keep the tics off. And then we will pack it all up. President Hogge called tonight and told us that he knows we have been called of God to plan this Trek and we have done such an amazing job and how much he loves us. That really meant a lot to me that he would say that. I know The Lord is in the details of everything! He has blessed us so much and He has guided us to know how to prepare and how to set things up. We have done all that we can do and now we have to give it over to Him. I am grateful for that peace.
I have so many people coming up to us and asking if we are so stressed out and are we sleeping at night. I LOVE being able to tell them I am sleeping perfectly ;) But really, I feel that our committees have been so amazing and we have things planned to a T but then I know that things may not go to our plan but will be The Lords plan so I am not worried.
We have our "MTC" like "gear drop off" night on Tuesday. All 500 people will enter in through the south side of the stake center parking lot and pull up to the check in line. Then they will be directed to the ward area to drop off just like pulling up at the MTC. They will take out their gear and put it in the ward section then leave. After they leave we will tag their gear with a color. The Equipment committee will come and pick up the gear and load it on a truck according to the company color.
Wednesday morning they will all come to a registration table per ward and they will be given a colored wrist band with a number on it. This will tell them what bus they will get on like Blue #2 etc. They will also receive their "I'll Do It For Him" bag with their bandana, bracelet and book of Mormon in it. They will go in and have a devotional and some breakfast. Then we will dismiss the Ma's and Pa's to the foyer. Dad and I will be there to give them their "Ma and Pa" Call, just like a mission call. WE have prepared an envelope for them that will have a letter like a mission call but it will tell them they have been called as a Ma and Pa to serve in the Blue company with company Captain President Hogge. The letter was written by Dad and I and it tells them how much The Lord loves them and has entrusted them as Elect Leaders to care for the youth.
Then they will have a list of their family and their medical needs if any. The Ma's and Pa's will get on the bus and wait for the youth to come. The youth will get on the bus that coordinates with their wrist band (we will have someone at the bus door checking to make sure they are at the right but just like you guys had someone checking for dinkles to get on a band bus).
After all the kids are on each bus the Ma's and Pa's will tell them who is in their family. The kids then will shuffle to the area with their family and we will start the buses moving to the trek site. The families will have time to get to know each other on the way up to the trek site.
When we get there the families will find their handcart that will have their family flag already on it and then find their gear by the truck that has their company color. Then they will load their carts and get ready to pull out.
That first day we trek for 9 miles. That night dad and I will be doing a devotional. I am using some of Elaina's talk on the iron rod and staying strong in a world that wants to CRUSH them. I'll use my object lesson of an empty can and a full can. I have soooooo many thoughts to share but such little time. I mean, I've had almost a whole year to gather many thoughts, how to choose just a few of them to share...... Sorry, I won't give you a play by play of the itinerary. But I will email next week to let you know how it all went.
Lexie will be doing Reville every morning and Taps at night. So cool. She also got a water proof Ukulele to play, it's pretty cool. She says she is sorry she couldn't email to night btw cuz she is getting up really early for the Days of 47 Parade in the morning. She was having a hard time settling down. She's nervous if she will make it through..... They are marching in full uniform so she is nervous about passing out from heat exhaustion. I told her that since she keeps her baptismal covenants then she has the right to pray for angels to help her. She can ask specifically for an angel who is really good at marching in parades and has endurance. She liked that. I'm sure she will do great.
I LOVE you and pray for you always. I add your name to the temple roll every week and sometimes your companion. If there is ever anyone else you want me to add, let me know and I will. I am going this week to the temple on Tuesday since we will be gone Thursday. I'll bet you will get to go to the temple soon for your year mark, right??
Keep Strong, Keep the Faith! You are truly Amazing and God has Amazing things for you to do, so keep on keeping on.
Love Always,
Mommy
