The Saviors Power

FEBRUARY 26 2017

Hey Elder!!!

I'm so happy you were able to go to the temple!!! Tell me all about it. I loved all the pics. Elaina sent me a message of a friend you ran into. That is way cool.

SOOOOO, what did you find out about your back and your hip? And don't sugar coat it, ha ha. I put your name on the temple role, which I do every week, but this week and prayed specifically for your back and hip. Is it the fact that your hip always slid out that is making it painful? Don't forget to respond about this k.

This last week was just a normal week. Always full of a push at work to get paperwork done with our clinicians. Kris was on a roll. We are having employee issues and really need to hire nurses in our north area. I interviewed one on Friday and really would love to hire her. She is thinking about it. I am praying she decides to take the job. I really liked her and think she would do an amazing job. I pray for Heavenly Father to send the right people right away but then say if it's thy will. I know that no matter what, it will all happen how it's supposed to.

I love how your investigators and converts are doing. It's fun to know that you have been there for so long that you have had an opportunity to really have a bond with all of them. You are an amazing missionary. Heavenly Father truly needs you.

Yesterday, Elaina sent me a text saying they were talking about people who go from blonde to dark hair and wanted me to send her pics of you since you were blonde and turned dark. Lauren didn't know that you had once been blonde. Not many people do. I sent these :)

SO DANG CUTE!!!! Way blonde!!!

Dad saw the one of you in the bathtub and he didn't remember that. I laughed. I remember you were so excited to get in that you forgot to get undressed. Ha Ha!!!!

Anyway, Lexie did her solo ensemble and Trumpet choir this week. Oh my goodness it was sooooo embarrassing! The trumpet choir started and they couldn't even start together and never on the same beat or measure. It sounded like 20 trumpets playing their own song. It was terrible. Poor Mr. Simon, his face turned red and he just started laughing and writing. Hopefully Lexie tells you more but I wanted to run away being a mom in that room. Other parents were equally mortified. Well, they got their score sheet back with a lot of critique and NO score and definitely a NO for going to regional. Ha Ha. Truly, it would have made you want to crawl up a wall.

Lexie did pretty good. She did have to play less than 20 mins after the trumpet choir and she said she could only go up from there. Mr. Simon could tell her chops were already blown by then and her tone was very airy and dry. But he said overall it was pretty good considering. She got a 1- and is going to regional. She was pretty upset but the piece Mr Simon gave her to do was very challenging and she will have more time to practice it.

Trek is coming along. We have had 140 callings so far and are working on getting the rest called. crazy huh.

I'm so grateful for the power of finding joy in all that I do. It's the happiness improvement program that is really helping me. I am visualizing sunshine pouring into me and I've added my own twist, I visualize the savior with his arms out stretched to me and his power filling my soul. I LOVE IT!!!

It's amazing how much I can feel that the Savior loves me and he wants me to keep being happy. and to search out and do good for others.

Do you have any acts of kindness from you or other missionaries that I can report??? We are trying to get to 7000 and are at 300. I would love any quick info.

I love you Caden, the Lord loves you and he will always be with you too.

Love Always,

 MOM

ELDER SNELL: Hi, Mom :)

I am so happy I was able to go to the temple, too! It was such an
amazing experience! I was able to sit in the Celestial room for almost
30 minutes, about 5 of which I was by myself, so it was a great time
to receive some guidance from Heavenly Father. The temple truly is a
house of God :) I will include some other stories from the temple trip
in my weekly email :) If I forget, remind me hahaha I also put your
name in the Manhattan temple as well :) I figured you could use the
extra blessings for stress at work and trek stuff ;)

SOOOO, I went to the doctor's office on Thursday. They didn't accept
our family insurance, so I had to use the Missionary Medical
insurance. I was okay with that, though because it was only a $10
deductible hahaha Anyway, my back freezes up all the time and it is
super painful. My hips hurt really bad when I run, walk long
distances, or stand for an extended amount of time. My shoulder also
hurts really bad from when I dislocated it. The doctor just prescribed
me Meloxicam (an anti-inflammatory pill). He also sent me to get some
blood work done to check my kidney function, liver function, if I am
diabetic/pre-diabetic, etc. So, yeah. I have a follow-up appointment
on Monday, March 6 to discuss the results of my blood tests. It will
be a party :)

Hey, also before I forget: I only have 12 days left in my journal. Do
you think you could send me the same kind from Segull Book? The kind
with the small imprint of the Angel Moroni on the front and the
scriptures on the inside? If not, no worries. I can just order one
online or something haha I just really like the one I have :) It
doesn't have to be the same color. In fact, a different colored one
would be good so I can distinguish the order of journals :) haha or
the same color, either way :)

I love you!
Elder Snell

MOM: That's crazy that your back freezes up on you like that. And hip and shoulder. Ugh. Do u think it's because of the cold weather? Was it ok during the summer?

Well. I guess we'll see what the blood work shows. Has the meloxicam been working so far?

So good to hear from you and your positive attitude even though u r in so much pain. I'm so sorry.

We are going to Claude Mills funeral today. I forgot to mention that he passed away. Zac is as there taking care of him when he passed. I ran over to help and they had tons of people there. He had been on hospice only a day. His heart had given out on him 😕. But the family is doing ok.

ELDER SNELL:
My back has been doing that for a couple years, now... Year round. But
it's all good :) the meloxicam doesn't really do anything haha.

That is sad. I'm not a fan of funerals. Zac is doing hospice now??
That's way cool! Not too cool that Maude passed away on Zac's first
time.

Thank you! :) we are doing a mission-wide thing with the Book of
Mormon that is using up all my highlighters haha :)

MOM: Sweet!!! On the colors in the Book of Mormon. I'll get u more.

You just have your amazing mom to massage your back. Ha ha. Jk.

Claude had been on home health for a few years and zac has been taking care of him for a few months since he started working with me. But zac is getting a complex as the angel of death since this is 2 people that have now passed as he came in the room. He really is an amazing caregiver through. So glad he is working with me.

Love you
