Trek Traning 1.8.17
Heavenly Father sent me on a Huge spiritual journey this last year
through some major trials where I ended up totally changing my focus
in my life to The Lord. I decided I needed to stop asking Heavenly
Father to help me accomplish the Goals I wanted to achieve and I
started asking Heavenly Father to help me be what He needs me to be.
I started attending the temple weekly so I could have the POWER He
has promised so I could make it through the next week. I NEVER
questioned “Why” I was going through what I was, but on Aug 16, 2016
I realized WHY.
We had just been up at Girls Camp only weeks before and Amy
Patterson and I were talking about next year and the fact that Trek was
coming up. I expressed my thoughts that I was getting worried that a
trail boss hadn’t been called yet and I was feeling like we were getting
behind in the planning.
Little did I or Amy know that I was expressing my concern to the New
Stake Young Women’s President and I, along with my husband Steve,
were going to be called as the Trail Boss.
As President Hogge shared the Spiritual experience that he and
President Baker had in regard to who they should call, the Spirit bore
Witness to me that it was true. And then the Spirit bore witness to me
that my Spiritual journey for the last year was to prepare me for Trek.
Heavenly Father knew he needed to make sure that I learned to FULLY
TRUST in HIM no matter what, and I have. He needed me to know that
no matter what happens, he is in charge, and I KNOW and I needed to
know WHY I follow my Savior, wherever he may go, and I TESTIFY that
with out a doubt, I KNOW WHY.

This Trek’s theme came as we studied several, several websites, books,
listen to many many songs and knelt in prayer over and over again. I
kept coming back to the song that my Brother, Troy Wood in the
Farmington Oakridge Stake, wrote last year for his Trek. The song was
given to him by the Spirit in matter of minutes and he scribbled it down
quickly. His wife helped him with final touches and the song “WHY” was
born.

Just as Heavenly Father sent me on a Spiritual Journey this last year so I
could have NO DOUBT of the many WHY’s I am facing today, He has
called each of you Now to start or continue your spiritual journey as
well.
Why Trek? Trek is where many of the Youths testimonies are born.
Heavenly Father has called only His Elect Leaders that He knows he can
count on to nurture His sons and daughters. Each of you have been
prepared specifically for this experience. You may not know WHY yet
but I testify of the importance and Power this ONE experience will have
on you and the effect it will have on the Salvation of the Youth. It was
on Trek that both of my Sons either solidified or gained their
Testimony. Zac has returned from a mission and married in the temple,
and Caden is serving a mission right now. Heavenly Father is counting
on all of us to be prepared so we can show compassion and love to
those we have charge of just as our Savior Jesus Christ would have for
them.
I KNOW life is full of way hard trials, ones that bend you to your knees
and make you want to give up. These YOUTH need to connect with
each of you, they need to know that you know THE LORD is the way. He
is the ONLY way to make it through this world. They need to see that it
is by reaching outside of themselves and serving others, pulling Hand

Carts together, serving their family, that they will be able to make it
through their trials.
We can’t go through life Grumpy and Bitter. We have to learn to be
Happy no matter what and Endure life well. But it will take US to be the
ones to desire to be the meek and lowly of Heart and honestly seek for
correction and Light at this time so we can share it with them.
This I know with out a doubt, this is THE LORDS Trek. It’s not Wendi or
Steve’s Trek. It’s The LORDs Trek and no matter what you have been
called to do on this TREK, each of you are called to receive inspiration
and knowledge of what The Lord would have you do. We are not a
dictatorship, nor do we have ALL the answers. But with everyone
fulfilling their callings to the best they can, everything that will happen
on TREK will be The Lord’s Will. When things end up to be a mess or if
they run very smooth, I can testify that they will happen that way for a
reason. We will have learned what we were sent here to learn.
I testify that NO MATTER WHAT, THE SAVIOR IS IN CHARGE. I will follow
HIM, wherever he wants me to go. WHY? I’ll do it for HIM.

Time Flys Fast!

June 25, 2017 Hey buddy!!! How are you? Hows the weather been? Still crazy rainy? It's been way hot here. I loved your video of the rain. That was crazy sauce.  This week has been good. Not too crazy, just working and spending time with Dad as much as I can. Today is our 25th Anniversary, crazy! Life really goes by so fast.  We are watching the drum corps right now. Cool but they will get better with time. It's still really early in the season.  We had a way long trek meeting today but really feel like the Lord is guiding us and we have so many amazing people who are helping to plan it. It was pretty cool last night when I was praying in my closet, I prayed that my ancestors will help plan trek and help make sure that everything goes well. I felt the room grow with people. YO YO YO ONE YEAR!!!!

July 16 2017 WOWZERS!!!! I can't believe you will have been on a mission for 1 whole year on the 20th........ CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! This world is flying by so fast and I can't even keep up. I can't believe we are already going to be going on trek in 10 days. Any you have been gone almost 365 days.. WHAT... Well, I can't wait to hear all about your new opportunities. I pray you are looking to the Lord to help you do everything. I was thinking about that today and it's something I'm going to share with they youth on Trek. It is easy to get so overwhelmed with everything that is coming at you and all the responsibility that seems to pile up. Sometimes I just want to go in my closet and cry. I think, no way, I can't do one more thing. And then guess what? I pray to My Father in Heaven and somehow he makes things work out. Testimony of Trek

August 6 2017 Hello Buddy!!! Wow, these weeks are flying by so fast!!! I started writing my Trek book and it's about 6 pages now and I am only on the first trekking day. Ha Ha. Ya, probably too much details that I am putting into it but I will give you a quicker version.  I had already told you how we were setting it all up for gear drop off and how we were getting everyone to the stake center that morning. Well, the night before I heard the rain and thunder...... oh man. I went into my closet to pray that I know Heavenly Father needs us to learn something on trek but I did ask if it be his will would he temper the weather. Ha Ha, here I am asking for the weather not to be too hot and also not to be rainy.  So at drop off we had many youth that didn't show up and ended up not coming and some that said they will show up in the morning. We also had a Ma and Pa decide not to come and didn't tell us. We didn't know until the night before we left. WOW. It's...
